Preparing for Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) - Virtual

Description

The Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) accreditation is now considered internationally to be the most sought after accolade in the project management profession.  ChPP is awarded only to project delivery professionals who can demonstrate both significant experience of working in a complex project delivery environment together with a broad knowledge of project techniques.  It is the benchmark for the project delivery professionalism.

This accreditation is not awarded as a result of exam performance.  Candidates will prepare a comprehensive portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their experience within this profession together with their commitment to on-going personal development.  Successful candidates may use the designation ChPP after their name demonstrating that they are Chartered and will receive the highly coveted ChPP badge of honour.

This programme will prepare applicants to submit their written ChPP portfolio and will provide guidance and insight into the interview process

Content

The Programme will comprise of the following elements: 

Pre-qualification: Applicants will complete a structured personal assessment of their suitability to achieve the ChPP accreditation based upon their project track record and their personal competence.

Modular Development Programme:  Applicants will join a cohort of like-minded professionals for a programme of webinars designed to lead them systematically through the preparation of their portfolio.  Each webinar, led by an APM accredited assessor, will build progressively towards the creation of a comprehensive portfolio of evidence providing hints and tips along the way.  Each webinar will set an assignment to draft a component part of the portfolio with regular assessor feedback.

Portfolio Review:  Applicants will benefit from regular reviews of their written drafts both during the programme and prior to formal submission.  Applicants will receive feedback from a qualified APM assessor who will critique and provide feedback on their intended submission.

Interview Preparation Guidance:  Following invitation to interview, applicants will receive a further video explanation of what to expect from and how to prepare for the professional discussion.  This will include guidance on the structure and content of the interview process, how to anticipate likely questions, areas to research, the pitfalls of shallow answers and how to phrase your responses.

Throughout the programme and prior to submitting their written application, applicants will also benefit from email and telephone support from their personal assessor.

Duration

This programme is delivered over an extended 3-4 month period.

Prerequisites

Applicants will have experience of project delivery within a complex project delivery environment and will have gained experience across a broad range of project competences.  Candidates will come from all areas of industry across both public and private sectors.

Target Audience

APM Chartered Project Professional status can be applied for by anyone with experience of leading the delivery of complex projects.  This can include any related discipline  associated with the delivery of complex portfolios, programmes or projects that can evidence practical application of the competences needed.
